Fuel Saving

Fuel consumption has a lot to do with the type of car you buy, but whatever you drive there are things you can do to save money and reduce fuel usage, CO2 emissions and pollution. The following areas can be monitored to ensure optimum fuel saving is being made:

Servicing: get the car serviced yearly or every 10000 miles

Less Idling: don’t leave the engine running when in traffic or if you are stationary for over 30 seconds

Combine trips: plan routes accordingly so unnecessary journeys aren’t done

Drive Smoothly: do not accelerate or brake heavily, avoid over revving

Stick to speed limits:  Driving at 70mph uses up to 10% more fuel than at 60mph and up to 15% more than at 50mph. Cruising at 80mph can use up to 25% more fuel than at 70mph.
